1. Chemical Name:    Sodium acetate anhydrous

2. Molecular Formula :   C2H3NaO2   

3. Molecular Weight:   anhydrous (82.03)   

4. CAS: 127-09-3    

5. Character:  It is white crystalline powder or block, odorless, slight bitter. The relative density is 1.582. Melting point is 324ºC. It has strong moisture absorption and highly dissolves in water.

6. Usage:     It is used as buffering agent, seasoning reagent, etc.

7. Packing:  It is packed with polythene bag as inner layer and polywoven bag as the outer layer. The net weight of each bag is 25kg.

8. Storage and Transport:    It should be stored in a dry, clean and ventilative warehouse, and kept away from water and moisture during transport, unloaded with care as to avoid damage to bags. Be cautious to keep away from moisture and hot.

Sodium acetate is a kind of chemical raw material, which can be widely used in pharmaceutical spice and food industries.
It can also be used as additive, buffering agent, dying agent, heat preservation agent and organic esterification reagent.
  • Sodium acetate is a mordant in dyeing. Other applications are in photography, as an additive to food, in purification of glucose, in preservation of meat, in tanning, and as a dehydrating agent. In analytical chemistry it is used to prepare buffer solution.
  • Sodium acetate can be used to preserve processed meats and it is often used in combination with other acid based preservatives like lactates and propionates. The typical inclusion level is 0.2 to 0.5%. Sodium acetate is also used in salad dressings and ready-to-eat meals.

In accordance with FDA § 184.1 (b) (1), maximum limit: breakfast cereal, 0.007%;Oil, 0.5%;Cereals and pasta, snacks,0.6%;Hard candy, 0.15%;Jam and jelly, meat products,0.12%;Jelly, 0.2%;Stock and stock mixture, sweet sauce,0.05%.

According to gb2760-2011, the maximum usage is in the compound seasoning :10g/kg;In puffed food :1g/kg.

Packaging Net weight 25kg, paper and plastic composite bag or woven bag, lined with PE bag, can be customized packaging.
Storage Store in a cool, dry and ventilated place. Do not mix with toxic chemicals.
