Calcium propionate is a white powder.It can be used as mildew inhibitor,preservative and bactericide.

Widely used in food,tobacco and pharmaceutical industry.Can be also used in butyl rubber to prevent aging and extend service life.Used in bread,cake,jelly,jam,beverage and sauce.

In addition to dairy and breads, it is frequently used in canned fruits, batter mixes, and other packaged and preserved foods where mold can occur. In these cases small amounts of liquid or crystalline propionate are usually added to cans, boxes, and packages just before they're sealed. The additive doesn't have a taste and doesn't usually impact the overall quality of the food, aside from preventing spoilage.

Application :

1. It can be used as a fungicide for foods and feedstuffs, and it is used as a preservative for breads and cakes. Calcium propionate is easily mixed with the flour, and it can provide the necessary calcium for the body while serving as a preservative for preservatives. It also serves to strengthen the function of food.
2. It has inhibitory effect on mold and aerobic bacillus which can cause sticky material in bread, and has no inhibitory effect on yeast.
3. It is effective in mold, aerobic Bacillus, gram-negative bacteria, aflatoxin, etc. in starch, protein and oils, and has unique anti-mildew and anti-corrosion properties.
4. As a feed additive, it can effectively inhibit moldy feed and prolong the shelf life of feed. If it is used in combination with other inorganic salts, it can also increase the appetite of livestock and increase milk production of dairy cows. Calcium propionate has low volatility, high temperature resistance and good animal adaptability and is suitable for a variety of feed applications.
