                               Food Grade ingredient Modified Tapioca Starch:
 

Hydroxypropyl distarch phosphate is a modified resistant starch. It is prepared by treating starch with propylene oxide and phosphoric acid or phosphorus oxychloride. It is stable against heat, acids, alkalis, and starch degrading enzymes, and is used as a thickener, stabilizer, and emulsifier in foods that are freeze-thawed and where better color and shine are required.

It is used as food additive (E1442) in EU and generally recognized as safe food substance in US.

Modified tapioca starch is a food additive which is prepared by treating starch or starch granules, causing the starch to be partially degraded. Modified starch is used as a thickening agent, stabilizer, or an emulsifier. Apart from food products, modified starch is also found in pharmaceuticals.
