Pullulan is natural water-soluble polysaccharide, produced from sucrose by fermentation. It is a linear, neutral glucan consisting mainly of maltotriose units linked through α-1, 6 - glucosidic bonds. It can form excellent film that is heat sealable as a good oxygen barrier as well as a printable film. This can be used widely as a thickening or extending agent, adhesives agent or encapsulating agent in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and industrial applications. It can also be used as the material of medicinal capsule shell, with no risk of cross-linking reaction,no interaction and very high stability.
